This toolkit can be used to assist employers and managers to support their staff through career pathways and continuous learning. It is recognised that individual employers may have specific requirements for their workforce.
Within vocational programmes there will be an expectation that employers will support their staff in their training and assessment. Employers will also be expected to support the professional development of their staff through Continuous Learning which will include Post Registration Training and Learning (PRTL) for those registered with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
Employers must also be aware of the requirements for registration of their staff with Scottish Social Services Council and abide by the Code of Practice for Employers. Employees will also need to abide by the Codes of Practice for Social Services Workers.
