Job roles

 

The kind of job you can apply for will depend upon three areas:
  • your aptitudes and interests
  • your previous experience of work and life
  • your learning and qualifications
Click on each of the following to identify your current job level and what is needed to get to the next level.
  • Entry level: are you right at the beginning of your career and looking to gain some experience and/or learning to get you started?
  • Support worker:  the first level of employment in care and support services
  • Practitioner: once you have gained some experience and initial qualifications you can apply for posts at practitioner level
  • Supervisor: when you have gained experience as a practitioner you may wish to apply for posts that involve the supervision of the work of others
  • Manager: to become a manager you will need to undertake qualifications in both care/support and management.  You will also need substantial work experience
  • Social worker/Occupational Therapist/Counsellor/ Clinical Psychologist/Nurse: you may wish to pursue the route of gaining a professional qualification at degree level
